The 12 dimensions of a Fortune 500 brand audit

Donald Tapper · June 2, 2026

Most brand advice is a vibe. A real audit is a structured review with a grade attached, so you can see exactly where you leak clients and fix it in order of impact.

The Master Brand Audit grades a brand across 12 dimensions. Eleven measure brand strength, each scored A to F. The twelfth is a legal and regulatory gate, judged pass or fail, and it runs first.

The 11 graded dimensions

Brand identity and positioning. Website. LinkedIn. Social media. Content strategy and messaging. Lead generation and conversion infrastructure. Trust and authority signals. Competitive differentiation. Online reputation and search presence. Email and content distribution. And AI search visibility, the newest and most ignored: whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI answers name you when a buyer asks for the best in your field.

Each dimension gets a letter grade and a verdict tied to what you actually show the world, not a generic template.

The 12th dimension runs first

Dimension 12 is Legal and Regulatory Exposure. Two hard gates: a trademark and name collision check, and an ADA/WCAG accessibility check. A brand can earn A grades everywhere and still be unsafe to launch if its name collides with a live trademark or its site fails accessibility law. No competitor screens for this, which is exactly why it leads the report.

The point of grading all 12 is not the score. It is the order of operations. When you can see every gap ranked, you stop guessing and start fixing the thing that wins back the most business first.

See it on your own brand.
